Art Style and Intention
My work primarily focuses on nature motifs and abstract color compositions, often finished with gold leaf. Much of my inspiration stems from personal travels and experiences, particularly my time in Brunei. The unique vegetation, the vibrant life of the jungle, and the mangrove forests greatly influence the motifs in my art. Additionally, the ever-present sun and the azure sky are reflected in the warm blue tones that characterize many of my pieces.
In my artistic process, I take great pleasure in working on intricate details and highlighting my subjects with rich, vibrant colors. I then enhance these with gold accents or envelop them in a gilded background. To create a sense of depth, I use varying shades of the shimmering metal. Gold leaf is an essential element in my work, used both to represent foreground objects and to add accentuation.
For me, the golden elements symbolize sunshine and joy, while the blue and serene tones convey a sense of peace and tranquility. Combining these elements makes the creative process calming and meditative, and this is the feeling I strive to evoke in those who view my work.
My intention as an artist is to inspire a sense of lightness and harmony in the viewer, prompting moments of inner reflection. At the same time, I want my paintings to energize and enhance spaces with beauty and inspiration.
I truly believe that art is a powerful means of expression, capable of uplifting our mood and enhancing well-being. My hope is that my artwork contributes to a positive state of mind and creates a warm, pleasant atmosphere.
